Вот тут говорят об отсутствии патриотизма, разложении общества etc. Но есть хороший пример, как мне кажется, уместный в данном случае: так называемый Red Alliance из Eve Online. Они тоже постоянно в раздробленности, думаю о себе, "родина" не очень беспокоит и всё такое(вот как щяс в России, собственно). Но как только их прижимает, они все объединяются и отвоёвывают половину галактики за очень короткое время. Думаю, если конфликт с Америкой дойдёт до вооружённого противостояния, то будет нечто похожее. Ведь ничто так не объединяет людей, как общий враг. ИМХО.

The waiter turns to the relevant entry in the manual and, sure enough, finds an explanation. 'Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves.'
