Syberia III was announced on April 1st 2009, and it was speculated that the enitre anouncement was an April Fools joke. According to a press release by Microids, Syberia III will be in real time 3D, unlike it's two predecessors. The game will also be cooperative, and PC and Playstation 3 players will have to work together to actually be able to get to the ending. Victoria McPherson from the Still Life games, will also make an appearance in Syberia III.

In a press release dated April 17 2009, Emmanuel Oliver stated that the game will be released on PC, but might not be available on Playstation 3, due to problems with Sony. Sony has previously denied Microids to release Playstation 2 versions of Syberia and other games by the company, in the US.

Microids recently announced Syberia III for 2010 and although it may have been an April Fools' joke, the press release was followed by another, more serious one. Apparently, it is gonna be a Intercontinuity Crossover of Syberia and Still Life (which, itself, is a Spin Off of the earlier Post Mortem) universes and Kate is going to team up with Victoria McPherson.
