Silent Hill 5 will be the 7th installment in the Silent Hill series. Very little is known about Silent Hill 5, however it is speculated that it may be released early 2007 or along with the release of the Playstation 3 in November. In 2004 Masashi Tsuboyama announced its development and confirmed it was not going to be called "Shadows of the past" as previously rumoured. During an episode of Electronic Playground, a developer of Silent Hill 5 was interviewed who stated "It's a good time to be a Silent Hill fan". Akria Yamaoka [Silent Hill Musical Score] revealed that Silent Hill 5 would include psychological roots, much like that of Silent Hill 2. He also stated that Konami might change from the numeric title to a sititle. What the subtitle might be is still hidden away from us.
As much as we all wished for it, Silent Hill 5 was not present at E3 2006, however according to resent news which has been leaked from SONY, Silent Hill 5 is scheduled to appear at the Tokyo Game Show 2006. Although this information has not been confirmed by Sony, now until September is going to be a pretty exciting time.
